RTL bullying show draws 700,000 viewers

The television program from RTL, 'Project P: Stop het pesten' (Stop the bullying) drew 700,000 viewers for its first episode on Monday. The show, presented by Johnny de Mol and Dennis Weening, caused some outrage among schools and parents alike about the images, some of which were recorded in secret. The program came 21st on the list of the top 25 most viewed shows from Stichting Kijkonderzoek, which researches viewership and demographics. One of the schools that raised objections to the program, the Einstein Lyceum in Hoogvliet, went to the judge with the support of parents to try and prevent the children being shown on television. This case will appear in court on the 12th of May in Lelystad. RTL5 has already started by showing other episodes. According to the program, the images, which were recorded by the bullied children with hidden cameras, are treated in a "sound manner."
