Five arrested after Almere brawl

Police in Almere arrested five people Thursday night after a brawl at Runmolenweg that left multiple people with injuries.

The two men who were in the midst of the fight –a 49-year-old from Almere and a 45-year-old from Bussum-, suffered stab wounds in the neck and head area, and required treatment in hospital. A 49-year-old woman from Almere who was involved also required hospital treatment for her ribs that got bruised. And a third man, a neighbor of the fighters who had tried to step in and break up the fight, got stabbed as well. He was kept overnight at the hospital.

Police say that after they were released from the hospital, the 49 and 45 year old men, and the woman were taken into custody, as well as a 23-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy. The 23-year-old was suspected of involvement in the brawl and the boy ignored instructions of police carrying out investigations on the scene. Apparently the fight was the escalation of a long brewing feud between all suspects.
