Man set on fire after argument

A 28-year-old Amsterdam local was arrested Thursday evening in Rotterdam, on charges of attempted manslaughter and/or murder. He had set a man on fire after which he fled the scene.

Police received a report around 19:50 of a 52-year-old victim from Borsele, who was covered in a flammable liquid and set on fire after an argument on the Dirk Dronkersweg in Goes. The suspect sustained only light injuries to his head, neck, and hand, due to his quick response to take off his shirt to put out the fire. A coördinated search through the control room on strategic locations resulted in the arrest of the suspect shortly after. The suspect was treated on the scene. A financial dispute is presumably the cause of the argument.
