UPC Netherlands Announces 100 Job Cuts

Cable operator UPC Netherlands, which is one the largest cable operators in the Netherlands, will slash around 100 jobs as a “part of efforts to simplify the product offering.” The job cuts will come mainly in product support, and due to outstanding vacancies, the net effect will be a personnel reduction of 75, Telecom Paper reports. UPC Netherlands has a total of around 1,700 employees. Some of the affected staff may move to the Liberty Global head office, also in Amsterdam. The changes are expected to become effective in the first quarter of 2014, and staff have been informed of the changes, the paper said.
