Dijsselbloem Cancels Trip US

Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem of Finance has canceled his trip to the annual meeting of the IMF in Washington. Dijsselbloem was supposed to attend the meeting on Thursday and Friday but canceled the trip because of the negotiations with the opposition about the Dutch National Budget. Dijsselbloem says that he has responsibilities to the international institution, but as of this moment he wants to solve the internal Dutch problems because that is now more important to him. So on Thursday afternoon he will meet again with the financial experts of SGP, ChristenUnie, D66, PvdA and VVD. Prime Minister Mark Rutte says that he is very pleased that Jeroen Dijsselbloem will be joining the negotiations again on Thursday. He says that Dijsselbloem is extremely creative and has for every problem two solutions. D66 leader Alexander Pechtold said in an interview that the cancellation of the trip of Dijsselbloem shows how urgent the negotiations are.
