Alarm Rijkswaterstaat on Oosterschelde storm surge barrier
Rijkswaterstaat sounds the alarm on the Oosterschelde storm search barrier in an internal report. The barrier suffers from years of neglect.This is announced by RTL Nieuws, after reading the report '' a closer look on management Oosterschelde barrier'. The service that must keep up the flood barriers in New Zealand reportedly neglected the sea walls for ten years.
The reliability of the barrier is under pressure, the department Zealand has less and less knowledge, and the situation gets out of control, says the report. The organization is too small to properly perform tasks and there are gaps in responsibility and planning.
A structural improvement of the organization is urgently needed, according to Rijkswaterstaat . Also the department that oversaw the condition of the soil was mostly shut down since 2000.
