World Record Redheads

Breda was on Sunday the place where the world record was broken for having the most redheads together. 1672 People with red hair from 80 countries came to the center of Breda, enough to break the record of last year, reported a spokesman of the 'Redhead Days' on Sunday. The attempt to break the world record was part of a three-day event that brought redheads, their friends and family and their fans to Breda. Throughout the weekend there were activities, workshops and the like. "Next year we will again try to break the record. Though we might need a larger square," laughed the spokesman. Red hair occurs naturally on approximately 1–2% of the human population. It occurs more frequently (2–6%) in people of northern or western European ancestry, and less frequently in other populations. Red hair varies from a deep burgundy through burnt orange to bright copper.
