Pirate Bay Browser Avoids IP Blockade

With the release of a new browser, access to The Pirate Bay website will no longer be a problem, according to the site. Pirate Browser has been built to help those in the Netherlands, and other countries where internet service providers restrict their users’ accessibility to the famous torrent site. A 2012 court order in the Netherlands forced internet service providers there to block access to the site. The Pirate Bay is still developing a version for Mac and Linux, but Windows users can already download the browser for free. Pirate Browser has some default bookmarks to sites that are blocked in certain countries, nu.nl reports. According to its blog, The Pirate Bay has released its own browser with which internet users can automatically break through blockades restricting access to it and also into other sites. The browser release is in honor of the site's tenth anniversary. The Pirate Bay claimed that this browser is only a first step. Soon, it will be almost impossible to block such sites because The Pirate Bay is also going to work on a Bitorrent-browser that will enable its users to save and share blocked sites, the website said. Pirate Browser is based on Firefox 23 and is intended to bypass blockages, not provide anonymous browsing.
