Ballast Nedam Puts Up New Hydrogen Fuel Station

Dutch construction and engineering firm Ballast Nedam confirmed the construction of its pioneer 700-bar hydrogen fuel station in the Netherlands, the Hydrogen Fuel News reports. AlfvanBeem/Wikimedia Commons The latest station can use renewable energy to generate hydrogen fuel. Building a fuel station is more complicated than producing large amounts of hydrogen fuel. It involves a specific method for proper storage. Likewise, it must be distributed at certain pressures that comply with the requirements of usual vehicles. The 700-bar pressure range is the best measurement for hydrogen fuel operation. Ballast Nedam is the fourth largest construction and engineering company in the Netherlands, after Royal BAM Group, Heijmans and VolkerWessels. Flemish-Dutch WatersofNet authorized the project. Ballast Nedam announced that the new fuel station is expected to open in 2015.
