Van Wolfswinkel Keen to Join World Cup

24-year-old Ricky Van Wolfswinkel is interested in getting picked by the Dutch team to represent the country in the World Cup, according to Goal. The Norwich striker is firm despite his £8 million worth and is not hesitant to play single-handed as a forward after his time at Sporting Lisbon. He wants to become a member of the Netherlands' World Cup team in Brazil next year. Ricky van Wolfswinkel

He hopes to have a tough first Premier League season to established himself nationally. Wolfswinkel told reporters that to take part in the World Cup would be a huge thing for him and for Norwich since they will have members in the national squads. He said his focus now is Norwich and to improve himself. Playing for the Netherlands team would come as a bonus for him. He added that making goals are valuable for the team and the national team will follow later. "The Portuguese League is not on the TV in Holland. The Premier League is every day, so more people see you and, if you are in the news, performing well, then the [international] coaches will see you also," he said.
