No Problems With Phone Services

Phone service providers have coped well with the extra demand for services during the week of the inauguration. No major problems have occurred so far. Phone calls and data do take a bit longer to process. For example, during the balcony scene at around 10 am, when the new king waved to the crowds at de Dam, Vodafone’s traffic was shortly interrupted. KPN's customers sometimes had to wait a bit longer when uploading or downloading files. Nu.nl reported that the providers had prepared backup plans in case problems occurred later in the day when peaks were expected. Vodafone, for example, advised their customers to switch to the G2 network if services were not working.
