Euro95 hits record €2.636 per liter as oil continues to surge on Middle East war

The recommended price for Euro95 gasoline stood at 2.636 euros per liter today, the highest recorded since UnitedConsumers began tracking the fuel on Nov. 7, 2000. For motorists, the new high price means refueling is more expensive again at many locations.

“The average price of gasoline, therefore, stands today at 2.636 euros. The gasoline price has never been this high—a record!” said Derk Foolen, fuel expert at UnitedConsumers.

The increase follows yesterday's rise in oil prices to 114 U.S. dollars per barrel, driven by persistent unrest and uncertainty surrounding the conflict in the Middle East.

The previous mark of just over 2.50 euros per liter, set on June 15, 2022, remained in place for a long time. It was first exceeded again on March 17, 2026. Since then, the record has been broken 14 more times.
