Max Verstappen joins Mercedes-AMG team for 24h Nürburgring race
Max Verstappen will compete in the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring with Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing, alongside Dani Juncadella, Jules Gounon, and Lucas Auer, Mercedes reports.
The team will also race in NLS1 on March 14, NLS2 on March 21, and the 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers on April 18–19, with the car carrying number 3. Verstappen will appear at NLS2 to prepare for the endurance race while balancing his Formula 1 schedule.
“The Nürburgring Nordschleife is a special place. There’s no other track like it. The 24h Nürburgring is a race that’s been on my bucket list for a long time, so I’m really thrilled we can make it happen now,” Verstappen said on his website.
“Last year, I was able to get my DMSB Permit Nordschleife and participate in NLS9, that we won. That preparation is very valuable… We’ve got a strong line-up with Dani, Jules, and Lucas and great support from Red Bull and Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. Now it’s about putting in the right preparations before the events, so we can maximize everything in the races.”
Juncadella added, “I am incredibly proud to have the opportunity to join Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing… Our package is extremely strong. It’s a very competitive car with a very strong line-up. I know Max quite well from his simulator racing team… I am very thankful to Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, as well as to Genesis Magma Racing, for giving me the approval to pursue this GT3 project.”
The 24h Nürburgring begins May 16 at 3:00 p.m. CET and will stream live on Viaplay, Red Bull TV, and the Red Bull Motorsports YouTube channel.
