Man arrested after car ploughs into people following argument in Ede

Four people were taken to the hospital on Christmas Day after a 64-year-old man drove into a group of people as a result of an argument in Ede. One man has been arrested by the police after the incident. One of the victims is severely injured.

Several ambulances and a trauma helicopter were called after the incident. The man drove over one person after an argument involving six people on De Halte in Ede at around 4:30 p.m. It initially escalated into a street brawl before the driver drove into the crowd.

The man knew the three people who were injured as a result of his actions. They are men aged 30, 40, and 51. After undergoing a medical examination at the hospital, the suspect was deemed fit to be placed in a cell. He is still being held on Friday, and police have not yet said when he will appear before a judge.

The road on the corner of De Halte and the Telefoonweg in the city center of Ede was closed off by police after the incident on Christmas Day. At the scene, authorities carried out a thorough investigation, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. The surrounding area was secured, and several ambulances were present to provide medical care.

Authorities have yet to determine whether the driver knew about the dispute before entering the vehicle, or if he was summoned later by someone involved. Police are examining this as part of their ongoing investigation.
