KNMI issues fog alert for most of the country until 11 a.m., urges drivers to be careful
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) issued a code yellow warning Saturday morning for dense fog across most of the country, excluding Limburg, Zeeland, Zuid-Holland, and Noord-Brabant. The warning remains in effect until 11 a.m.
The weather institute cautioned motorists to drive carefully due to the greatly reduced visibility.
Visibility in many areas has dropped to less than 200 meters, and in parts of the northeast, drivers may face visibility of under 50 meters, according to KNMI.
While the advisory had also applied overnight to Noord-Brabant, conditions there improved by morning, and the province has been downgraded to code green.
