Photos: Dutch party leaders cast their votes in parliamentary election
The Dutch parliamentary elections are well underway, and many of the party leaders have already cast their votes.
PVV leader Geert Wilders voted at The Hague city hall, looking more grim than he did when voting in the 2023 election. Unlike in previous elections, he also did not post a photo of himself voting on X. The PVV won a massive 37 seats in parliament last election. The polls still project the far-right party to be the largest, but the PVV has lost some support in recent weeks.
GroenLinks-PvdA leader Frans Timmermans voted at the Sint Pieter community center in Maastricht. D66 leader Rob Jetten voted for the Het Klokhuis community center in The Hague. These two parties are neck-and-neck for second place in the polls, and close behind the PVV. The VVD leader Dilan Yesilgoz-Zegerius submitted her vote in Amsterdam, where she lives.
CDA leader Henri Bontenbal voted in Rotterdam, ChristenUnie leader Mirjam Bikker in Gouda, NSC leader Eddy van Hijum in Laag Zuthem, Volt leader Laurens Dassen in The Hague, and SGP Chris Stoffer in Elspeet. PvdD leader Esther Ouwehand was among the early voters, casting her vote at Den Haag Central Station five minutes after the polls opened at 7:30 a.m.
