Two men stabbed in Heemstede apartment complex; suspects arrested
Two men were stabbed early Saturday morning during a violent altercation at an apartment complex on Overijssellaan, Heemstede, NH reported. Police responded to a report of a fight around 2 a.m. and found two men injured at the scene. The victims, a 21-year-old from Zandvoort and a 20-year-old from Heemstede, took themselves to the hospital for treatment. Their current conditions are unknown.
The incident drew a large police response, with multiple patrol cars dispatched and a significant section of the street cordoned off. Photos from the scene show a cordoned-off entrance to a well-lit apartment building, with bicycles and a scooter parked nearby and rain-slicked pavement underfoot.
Shortly after the stabbing, officers arrested two suspects in the area. The suspects are a 25-year-old man from Bunschoten and a 20-year-old man from Breda. Police have not ruled out additional arrests.
The motive for the attack remains unclear. Police said it is possible the stabbing followed a dispute, but no further details have been confirmed. Detectives are continuing their investigation.
The stabbing took place in a residential area where such violent incidents are rare. The Overijssellaan remains partially closed as police collect evidence.
