Attempted manslaughter suspected in case of alleged attack on singer S10's twin

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) believes that the case of a 24-year-old man who was found seriously injured on the roof of a garage at the bottom of an apartment building on the Osdorper Ban in Amsterdam was an attempted manslaughter. The 23-year-old suspect from Hoorn will remain in pre-trial detention for an extra 60 days, a spokesperson for the OM said after De Telegraaf had reported it. The victim is currently still in a coma.

According to De Telegraaf, the victim is the twin brother of the musician S10, who performed the Dutch entry for Eurovision in 2022. The suspect from Hoorn will appear in the council chamber again in a month, a spokesperson from the OM confirmed.

The victim was staying, possibly against his will, at an apartment for hours on April 16. Police have said that the victim fell from the fourth floor of the apartment complex under suspicious circumstances. This added charge means that the OM now believes that the victim was pushed off of the flat or that there was so much violence in the apartment that the victim attempted to run away and fell during his attempt.

The suspect was arrested on May 21. He was initially jailed on suspicion of unlawful deprivation of liberty, resulting in serious injury and committing multiple burglaries. The charge has now been expanded to include suspicion of attempted manslaughter.

The prosecutor will ask the court to extend the suspects’ pre-trial detention by another 30, up to the first preliminary and public hearing.
