Second arrest made in fraud case involving over 130 victims

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fraud case with over 130 victims. He is suspected of taking over the fraudulent system from a suspect who had been arrested earlier in the investigation. The police are still investigating the suspect’s role in the case.

The other suspect, a man aged 68, is accused of using two investment companies to raise five million euros from people who thought they were making a good investment in property in 2022.

However, the money was never invested. It was immediately transferred to the man’s private bank accounts and persons and companies affiliated with it. He is accused of embezzlement, money laundering, and fraud.

The man who was arrested on Tuesday is accused of continuing the other suspect’s work. Data carriers like phones and laptops were seized during the arrest, and his accounts have been frozen.

The police are not ruling out more arrests.
