Cyber service warns for weaknesses in company software SAP
The Digital Trust Center (DTC) has warned that there are vulnerabilities in the company software SAP. It has become clear recently that that these weaknesses were being actively abused. Now it has become apparent that the cyber attackers are using the weak point to gain access to the system again at a later date.
That is why the DTC, the cyber service of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, has scaled up the threat level to high.
The cyber attacks who gain access to a company’s system also place what are “webshells” there. This tool helps them penetrate the system again at a later stage. These webshells are sold on the internet, which increases the chance of large scale abuse, according to the DTC.
Cyber experts have recommended companies that use SAP software to conduct security updates as quickly as possible. In addition, they are reminding companies of the emergency solution which they can use to check if their system has been infected with webshells.
SAP said in a statement that they take the security of their products and clients very seriously. “We are aware of a vulnerability in SAP NETWEAVER Visual Composer,” the company wrote in a statement.
A patch has reportedly been made after they had investigated the problem. According to SAP, a special security message was released about this on April 24.
