Veldkamp leads Dutch delegation in Lviv to support Ukraine’s EU bid
Minister of Foreign Affairs Caspar Veldkamp of the Netherlands is in Lviv for a conference aimed at advancing Ukraine’s European Union membership process. This conference follows a direct request from the Dutch Parliament, which asked the government to assist Ukraine in navigating the complex steps required for EU accession.
The Netherlands is offering vital support to Ukraine, helping the country meet the "Copenhagen criteria"—a set of standards necessary for EU membership, including democratic institutions, the rule of law, and a market economy.
A delegation from six Dutch ministries is also present in Lviv to address key issues such as the rule of law, agriculture, energy, and social matters—critical areas that Ukraine must align with EU norms.
Minister Veldkamp is expected to meet with Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olha Stefanishyna, to further discuss Ukraine's European integration.
