Protesters in Tilburg rally against Musk's political power and cost-cutting agenda
Dozens of protesters gathered outside a Tesla dealership in Tilburg on Saturday, voicing opposition to the prominent role Tesla CEO Elon Musk has taken within the U.S. government. The demonstration, organized by the group Tesla Takedown, was held at the Tesla Delivery Center on Asteriastraat, with around 80 to 100 participants taking part.
The protest focused on the drastic budget cuts Musk is pushing through, which the demonstrators argue are undermining democracy. Holding various signs, the protesters accused Musk of supporting actions that they believe threaten democratic institutions, Omroep Brabant reports.
Some signs depicted Musk in a Nazi uniform, referencing past controversial moments where Musk appeared to make the Hitler salute. Other signs read "Don't buy a swasticar" and "You cannot buy humanity." The protest was reportedly brief and peaceful. Once they had made their statement, the protesters quickly dispersed, many of them riding bicycles, according to Omroep Brabant.
The group behind the demonstration, Tesla Takedown, has been vocal about its concerns, particularly regarding Musk's actions related to government policies and budget cuts they claim could destabilize democratic processes.
