16-year-old who was rushed to hospital from school in The Hague has passed away
The 16-year-old boy who was found severely injured in the school building of the Hofstad Lyceum in The Hague has passed away. His family announced this on Thursday. The student died on Thursday morning in the hospital.
Reports came in on Wednesday regarding ambulance workers rushing into the Hofstad Lyceum and bringing out a boy on a stretcher. The boy had blood on his head, Omroep West reported. A trauma helicopter landed next to the school to rush the boy to the hospital.
The boy’s relatives have released a statement saying that “the events leave many questions unanswered.” They are asking to be left alone by the media. The police investigation is ongoing, but the police reported on Wednesday evening that they have found no clues that would suggest that the incident is related to a crime.
The school on the Colijnplein was closed off for some time on Wednesday. The classes have been canceled for the week, but the school is open for any students in need of support, a spokesperson said.
