Dutch driver caught in Belgium claims cocaine from kissing nightlife partners

A 38-year-old Dutch driver was stopped by police in Mechelen, Belgium, and tested positive for cocaine and alcohol, offering an unusual explanation for the results. The man claimed the cocaine in his system came from kissing women who used the drug, a justification dismissed as "technically impossible" by police, as reported by Belgian media outlet VRT NSW.

The driver was stopped during a WODCA control operation near Technopolis between Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Police from the Rivierenland district reported the man had a blood alcohol content of 2 promille and tested positive for cocaine. Despite denying personal drug use, the man admitted to consuming alcohol and Viagra.

"Never heard this excuse before"

"He claimed he tested positive because he kissed women in the nightlife scene who snorted cocaine," said Dirk Van de Sande, spokesperson for the Belgian Politiezone Rivierenland. "We have never heard this excuse before, and technically, it is impossible to test positive for cocaine through such contact."

The Dutchman also failed to produce a valid driver’s license or documentation for his vehicle. Belgian authorities issued two fines of 1,260 euros each for drug and alcohol violations, totaling 2,520 euros. When the man refused to pay on the spot, his car was immobilized. Police warned that if payment is not made within 96 hours, the vehicle will be confiscated.

The operation was part of a larger pre-emptive alcohol and drug testing initiative in the area. Police stopped 1,475 drivers during the operation. Four drivers tested positive for drug use, and six individuals temporarily lost their licenses for three hours. Another five drivers had their licenses suspended for 15 days, and three others were banned from driving for six hours.
