Dutch PornHub audience misses 1st place for most time on adult site, losing to Mexico
Internet users in the Netherlands who frequent adult content website PornHub spend the second-highest amount of time on the site per visit compared to those located in other countries. The Netherlands also ranked in 13th place on the Canada-based pornographic website's list of the top countries by internet traffic.
In terms of time on the site per visit, Dutch users lost to their Mexican counterparts by ten seconds. “When our statisticians broke it down by country, Mexico spent the most time per visit to Pornhub, with an average of 11 minutes and 1 second. Next was the Netherlands, who spent an average of 10 minutes and 51 seconds," the website noted in its year-end recap. "And in third was the United States, where visitors came and went in 10 minutes and 37 seconds.”
The U.S. did finish first for global traffic to the website, followed by France, Philippines, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Germany took sixth place, pipping Brazil, Italy, Japan, and Canada. Spain and Poland were in 11th and 12th above the Netherlands.
Perhaps more remarkable is the high ranking the Netherlands continually garners, having moved up on PornHub's list from the 15th position. The Netherlands is estimated to be 71st out of all countries in terms of population, and 47th when compared globally based on the total internet users per country.
After the Netherlands, the countries of Argentina, Ukraine, Colombia, Australia, Egypt, Chile, and Peru rounded out the top ranking on the adult content site. The top 20 countries accounts for over 79 percent of traffic to the adult website, which is consistently near the top spot on lists of the most-used websites worldwide.
The demographics of PornHub users in the Netherlands also seemed to influence different trending searches and categories on the website. While female web traffic grew from 31 to 38 percent globally, women in the Netherlands only accounted for about 28 percent of the site’s users for the second year. Women represent 59 percent of all PornHub users in the Philippines and 51 percent in Argentina, and nearly half of the audience in Colombia and Mexico.
Users in the Netherlands are also most likely to be younger, with 30 percent being between 18-24 and 21 percent between 25 and 34 years of age. The remaining 49 percent is nearly split evenly between the 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65-and-up demographics.
This may also explain why the country has 82 percent more people viewing the category “gaming” on the website compared to the rest of the world. Other categories that have a relatively high view rate in the Netherlands include "Behind the Scenes" and "Arab."
“MILF” was also the most searched term in the Netherlands in 2024. This has been the most popular search term for years in the Netherlands. The category MILF rose from third place to first place in the most viewed category in the country. Anal came second, with Mature, Lesbian, and Threesome rounding up the top five.
There was an increase of 720 percent in Dutch people searching for “passionate missionary.” This was the highest trend in search terms. The second highest was “Dutch amateur homemade.”
Lana Rhoades and Angela White were once again among the top five most popular pornstars in the Netherlands, as has been the case in the previous years. Johnny Sins, Eva Elfie, and Alex Adams completed the top five.
More Dutch users were on the site during New Year’s Eve than previously. Traffic fell by 48 percent during the six hours leading up to 2024, compared to a 61 percent drop a year earlier. Average traffic also dropped off by about 13.6 percent on Easter Sunday.
