Suspects in fatal explosion in The Hague to face initial hearing on Friday

The three men who were arrested on Monday night on suspicion of involvement in the fatal explosions that occurred at the Tarwekamp in The Hague are set to appear in front of the examining judge on Friday. It will then be decided whether the evidence will lead to a more lengthy containment of the suspects.

It has still not been announced who the suspects are, where they came from, and in which way they were involved in the explosion. The investigation into the explosion on Saturday morning, which killed six people, led the authorities to the men.

Police reported on Tuesday that the men were arrested just before midnight on Monday. Since then, they have been under complete restrictions, meaning that they are only allowed to have contact with their lawyer.

Police have not ruled out making more arrests in this case.

A fundraiser that was started for the victims of the explosion has raised over 600,000 euros so far. A total of 20,429 donations had been made at the time of writing on Doneeractie.nl.

The aid foundation that started the fundraiser, Lichtpuntjes van Mariahoeve, will now provide emergency aid to the residents of the Tarwekamp. This includes basic products such as warm clothing, food, medicines, and care products, according to Lichtpuntjes van Mariahoeve.
