Dutch contract killer held for Spain murder from 2023; Two more Dutch suspects wanted
The Spanish police have announced the arrest of a Dutch suspect, which closes the case on a murder that took place over a year ago. Spain's National Police have now said that the Spanish man was shot multiple times in his car near his Granada home by men on a motorbike. Investigators believe they were part of a team of three hired killers.
That team had specifically arrived from the Netherlands to commit the murder in September 2023, police said on Thursday. For months, it was unclear what led to the slaying, and the motive behind it.
An arrest warrant was issued against the other two suspects, and the Spanish police hope that they can be found in the Netherlands as quickly as possible. The police have identified the suspects. All three are part of a criminal organization in the Netherlands that is guilty of drug trafficking, human trafficking, and contract killings.
The police also stated that the company that the victim worked for is involved in trafficking marijuana to the Netherlands just like the culprits do. The victim was in charge of a company that transports packages.
The Dutch criminal organization suspected him of keeping a package of drugs that was meant to be shipped to the Netherlands for himself to sell. This happened around a month before the murder and led to the three suspects who prepared the crime by intimidating and spying on the victim before committing the murder.
