Motorist crashes through gate at Gouda police station

A motorist crashed through the gate of a police station in Gouda with a van on Thursday evening, ending up on the police grounds. The man was arrested. The police described him as “disturbed,” to NU.nl.

Police officers drew their weapons when the car came crashing into the grounds of the police station on Nieuwe Gouwe, a police spokesperson told the newspaper. They are investigating why the man rammed into the station.

As a precaution, the police searched the man’s vehicle for explosives but found nothing. The officers also assessed the man’s mental state to determine if he needed psychological help.
