Joost Klein to perform tonight in Eurovision Semi-finals
After months of preparation, Joost Klein will finally achieve his lifelong goal on Thursday by performing his song Europapa in the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final in Malmo, Sweden. He will be aiming to win a place in the final in the second round of the semi-finals.
Klein reaching the final seems to be a formality. The bookmakers have him as one of the favorites to win the second semi-final. The public decides who will be the ten finalists, and the juries join the voting in the finals.
On Wednesday, Klein showed his act to the public for the first time. It showed that he does not have any surprises stored. It was announced earlier that actor Appie Mussa would perform as a bluebird and that the outro would have subtitles.
Klein will be given one more chance to perfect his act before the start of the second semi-finals. The whole show will be rehearsed in front of the crowd on Thursday afternoon.
Despite the song's massive popularity on Spotify, Europapa continues to drop in the bookmaker's odds of winning the song contest. The Netherlands is now the seventh favorite to win it. They were the sixth favorite just a few days ago. Croatia is the bookmaker's favorite to win the contest with Baby Lasagna's song Rim Tim Tagi Dim.
