5 tips for maintaining your poured concrete and resin floors

Every floor requires regular maintenance, including poured floors, called gietvloeren in Dutch. Since it is a continuous floor without seams or cracks, you can easily remove dirt and dust. To ensure that the poured floor continues to look like new, it is important that it is cleaned regularly. Make sure you have the right cleaning products at home, otherwise you risk scratches or damage. You should also implement the following 5 tips!

Use the right products

Did you spill something on the floor? Then of course you want to clean this as soon as possible. Preferably use a microfiber cloth to get the poured floor clean again. In addition, there are various cleaning agents especially for poured floors, or gietvloeren, that you can use to remove stains, depending on the material of the floor. Do not use abrasives or scouring pads. This can cause scratches in the top layer and that is of course not what you want.

Vacuum and mop every week

The capouredst floor has a beautiful appearance and you naturally want to keep it for as long as possible. To ensure that the floor continues to look beautiful, it is important that the poured floor is maintained weekly. Use a vacuum cleaner or squeegee to remove dust, sand and/or dirt. Make sure you use a vacuum cleaner or broom with a soft brush, otherwise scratches or damage may occur. It is sufficient to mop the poured floor once a week with a flat mop.

Prevent damage

Preventing damage is better than fixing damage and that is why we advise people to attach floor protectors to their furniture. Heavy cupboards or sliding chairs can cause scratches or dents in the floor. To prevent this, different protectors are available for each piece of furniture. You can easily and quickly stick this under the sofa, cupboards and chairs. They not only ensure that your poured floor stays beautiful for longer, and they also have a sound-absorbing effect.

Remove liquid

Did you know that poured floors are liquid-tight? So you don't have to worry if you drop a glass of wine or soft drink on the kitchen floor. Keep in mind that liquid can soak into the floor after a few hours. This can cause unsightly stains that you cannot simply remove with a microfiber cloth or flat mop. Therefore, make sure that liquid is removed and cleaned within three hours, so that you are sure that it will not soak into the floor.

Upgrade the floor

If you use the above tips, you can enjoy a beautiful poured floor for years to come. After a long period of time, the floor may show some signs of wear. This is completely normal and can be fixed with a major overhaul. For example, choose to restore the top layer or have a completely new coating applied, a gietvloer betonlook is a great idea in this case, giving the appearance of concrete. We advise you to work with a professional company, so that you can be sure that the job will be done professionally.
