Poor visibility due to fog; Code yellow warning issued
Except for the coastal provinces, the rest of the Netherlands will take on morning rush hour in thick fog on Thursday. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow warning that fog may reduce visibility to less than 200 meters in some places.
"Dangerous driving conditions. Adjust your speed and keep a safe following distance," the KNMI warned. The fog should dissipate by mid- to late-morning.
The day will be partly cloudy with some showers and maybe thunderstorms along the coast. Maximums will range from 7 degrees in the east to 11 degrees along the coast.
Overnight will also be cloudy with showers. More fog banks may occur, especially in the east and southeast. Minimums will be between 3 degrees in the east and 9 degrees along the coast.
Friday will be a mix of sun and clouds, with a shower or two. Maximums will be around 11 degrees, with a moderate to strong west- to northwesterly wind. The weekend will see clouds and showers, with maybe some sunshine on Sunday. Maximums will be just above average for autumn at 12 to 13 degrees.
