Ticketmaster agrees to refund service fees for cancelled events

From now on, Ticketmaster will refund service fees along with ticket prices if an event is canceled, consumers association Consumentenbond announced, RTL Nieuws reports.

Ticketmaster is one of the largest sellers of concert tickets in the Netherlands. People who buy tickets through Ticketmaster always pay a service fee, which ranges from 2 euros to 10 euros, according to Consumentenbond. In the past, Ticketmaster only refunded the price of the ticket if an event was canceled, and not the service fee too.

According to the consumers' association, consumers find it unfair that they only get the cost of the ticket back and there is no legal reason for not refunding the service cost.

Consumentenbond is pleased that Ticketmaster is changing its policy on this front and call on other ticket providers to do the same.
