Blast at Limburg ATM heavily damages area shops
Six people were arrested after an explosion at an ATM rocked Roermond just after midnight on Monday morning. Six people were arrested, all aged between 21 and 27.
Those arrested were from Amsterdam, Roermond, and Sittard-Geleen. One person was taken into custody near the blast on Hoekstraat in the immediate aftermath. Five more men were taken into custody in the nearby Limburg town of Beek.
Several storefronts and vehicles were damaged in the ATM bombing. Authorities confirmed they are looking for any witnesses to provide information and evidence.
In a statement, police were unwilling to confirm whether any cash was taken. Explosives are often used in the Netherlands in an attempt to steal the cash inside the machines.
