Utrecht murder victim identified as Werkendam woman, 24

A 24-year-old woman was found dead in a home on Bosboomstraat in Utrecht on Wednesday morning. She was killed in a crime, the police confirmed. A 31-year-old man from Nieuwegein was arrested on Wednesday afternoon.

Omroep Brabant identifies the victim as Laura Korsman. She was found murdered in the student home where she lived. Sources from the neighborhood told the broadcaster that her ex-boyfriend, who was stalking her, is responsible for her death.

Laura ended the relationship about two weeks ago, and the man had been harassing and threatening her since, neighbor Roy van Leeuwen told RTV Utrecht. According to him, the police were called several times.

The police was busy with forensic investigation in the victim's home all day on Wednesday. The suspect is in custody for further investigation.
