Dutch boy, 4, drowns in hotel pool on Ibiza
A 4-year-old boy from the Netherlands drowned in a hotel's swimming pool on Ibiza on Monday. Attempts to resuscitate the child were unsuccessful. The boy's family is receiving psychological aid, AD reports.
The incident happened at the Marble Stella Maris hotel in San Antonio. A lifeguard saw the child at the bottom of one of the pools at around 2:30 p.m. He dove the boy out of the water and started resuscitation. Emergency services took over from him. Emergency workers tried to revive the child for 45 minutes, but it was to no avail.
An autopsy will be done to determine the exact cause of the boy's death.
The boy was vacationing on the Spanish island with several relatives. The Spanish police launched an investigation.
