Amsterdam store targeted in shooting

Shots were fired on a store on Van Woustraat in Amsterdam Zuid during the early hours of Wednesday morning. A short time later, a nearby container went up in flames. The police believe the two incidents may be connected, Het Paroolr eports.

The police responded to the store, located between Lutma and Carillonstraat, at around 2:10 a.m. after reports of a broken store window. There they found that the window had been shot at. The perpetrator fled.

An hour later a container fire was reported on the corner of Diamant- and Tolstraat. The fire was extinguished, but there was no sign of a perpetrator.

The police are looking for witnesses to both incidents.
