Large police search around Hoogeveen murder victim's home

The police held a large search in Hoogeveen on Thursday around the home of Marcel Hoogerbrugge, who was killed there late last year, the Telegraaf reports.

In a canal near the house, the police searched for trace evidence and objects that may be related to the crime. The team of investigators searched for a few specific objects, including a rented bicycle, according to the newspaper.

The 49-year-old victim was found dead in his home on December 20th. This case was discussed on television program Opsporing Verzocht repeatedly, and the police received multiple tips. But despite these tips, and a reward of 15 thousand euros, this crime has still not been solved.
