Man, 32, dies in fall from Amsterdam hotel
A 32-year-old man died after he fell from the Faralda Crane Hotel in Amsterdam during the early hours of Sunday morning. What exactly happened, is not yet clear. The victim is a man from outside Amsterdam, but he is not a tourist, a police spokesperson said to Het Parool.
The Faralda Crane Hotel is located in a crane on the NDSM yard. It has three luxury suites and a panorama lounge for events. A party by event organizers Crossing Wires and Mood was happening at the hotel when the man fell. There were only about 60 people at the party - fewer at the time that the man fell - but no one seemed to know the victim, Frederique van Waning of Crossing Wires said to the newspaper. "No one I spoke to knew him."
"I was already home when it happened", Van Waning said. "The party was supposed to continue until the morning, but it was broken up around 3:00 a.m. when it happened. The attendees stayed until 8:00 in the morning for the police investigation. After that they were allowed to go home."
AT5 reports that there was a quarrel just before the fatal fall. Neither the police nor Van Waning could confirm this to Het Parool.
