Amsterdam kosher restaurant vandal arrested again

Saleh A., the man suspected of breaking the windows of kosher restaurant Ha Carmel in Amsterdam in December, is in custody again. The Syrian man was arrested again on Saturday for not keeping to the conditions of his release, Het Parool reports.

On December 20th, the court decided that 29-year-old A. could await his trial in freedom, on the condition that he cooperates with psychological and psychiatric examination and reports to the probation service on a regular basis. In May he missed two appointments with the probation service.

According to the newspaper, A. will stay in custody for at least 28 days.

Saleh A. is being prosecuted for breaking the windows of the Amsterdam kosher restaurant in December, while carrying a Palestinian flag. In April it was announced that he would not be prosecuted for terrorism, because there was insufficient evidence for this charge. His trial will start on July 11th.
