Intruder leaves man tied up in Utrecht home
An intruder broke into a home on Maliesingel in Utrecht on Wednesday night. He assaulted the resident and left him tied up while he searched the home for valuables. The police are looking for witnesses.
According to the police, the man came into the house through a window around 11:00 p.m. The resident was assaulted and tied up. The perpetrator searched through the home and eventually left around 00:30 a.m., taking cash and other items with him.
The resident managed to free himself and call the police. Officers and a police helicopter searched the area, but found no trace of the intruder. The resident was taken to hospital for treatment.
The intruder has pale skin and is about 1.85 meters tall, with a muscular figure. He has short dark-blond hair and spoke Dutch with an Eastern European accent. He was wearing jeans, a gray hoodie and black shoes.
