Thick fog, some sun expected this weekend
Friday and the weekend will be foggy, with occasional sunshine and some showers, meteorological institute KNMI expects.
People almost everywhere in the Netherlands woke up to thick fog on Friday morning. The fog started dissipating during the course of the morning, and should be completely gone by early afternoon, the KNMI expects. A few areas may see some sunshine this afternoon, and there may be some rain inland. Maximum temperatures will rise to around 8 degrees.
Saturday morning will again see thick fog in some areas. There may be some sunshine during the morning, but cloud cover will dominate in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will be around 7 degrees.
Sunday will be a bit milder, with maximum temperatures expected to rise as high as 11 degrees, according to the meteorological institute. But just because it will be warmer, doesn't mean it will be a nice day. There is very little chance of the sun breaking through the cloud cover, and a 40 percent chance of rain.
