Police seize €16 million in cocaine at northern port warehouse

Three people were arrested in connection with the discovery of 600 kilograms of cocaine in a warehouse. Police said the drugs have an estimated value of 16 million euros.

The cocaine was seized from the building on Vrij Harnasch in Den Hoorn, just west of Delft, Zuid-Holland, at about 2 a.m. on Friday. Authorities took a 50-year-old from Bussum and a 48-year-old man from Den Haag into custody at the time of the operation. Another person from Den Haag, aged 43, was arrested at a home in that city.

The seizure was the result of an ongoing investigation that led detectives to the warehouse. The cocaine was seized and will be destroyed.

All three suspects were placed into strict confinement, and are only allowed contact with their lawyer.
