Dutch minister's She Decides family planning fund raises €292 million

Development Aid Minister Lilianne Ploumen's family planning fund She Decides raised 292 million euros in donations from around 60 countries, she announced on Monday night, RTL Nieuws reports.

The Dutch minister established the fund early this year to counteract Donald Trump and the American government's anti-abortion policies and decision to pull 600 million dollars in annual funding for family planning in third world countries.

She Decides is aimed at continuing funding for hundreds of clinics in developing countries that provide women with family planning, maternity care, sexual education and safe abortions.

"She Decides means that every girl and every woman can safely exercise her right to decide for herself what she does with her body, who she shares her body with and whether she wants to have children. She must have access to education and information about her body and her options, modern contraception and safe abortion." the movement's website reads
