Govt subsidy for making homes energy-efficient is running out: report

The government subsidy for making homes more energy efficient, is running low after one year, the Volkskrant reports. The largest part of the subsidy amount is intended for homeowners. That art of the grant is already almost completely up, according to the newspaper.

Only homeowners associations can still claim subsidies.

The subsidy was launched in September 2016. Homeowners could claim up to 15 thousand euros in subsidies for taking measures that will make their homes more energy efficient, such as installing floor-, roof- or cavity insulation. More than 9 thousand homeowners made use of this subsidy, according to the newspaper.

It is up to the new government to decide whether this subsidy pot wil be replenished.
