Breda men caught with sword, batons in car

The police arrested two men from Breda in Etten-Leur after a short car chase during the early hours of Tuesday morning. In their car officers found a sword and two batons, the police said in a statement.

Officers signaled the two men to stop around 1:30 a.m. They ignored this and sped away. The police gave chase. On Moerdijkse Postbaan the car flew off the road and came to a halt. Neither of the men were injured.

The police arrested them. Inside the car, officers found a sword, two batons and break-in tools. The car and these items were confiscated for further investigation.

The suspects, aged 21 and 23, are in custody for questioning.
