Ferry collision behind Amsterdam Central Station sends one person overboard

Two people sustained minor injuries when a ferry collided with a jetty behind Amsterdam Central Station on Monday. One of the victims went overboard, Het Parool reports.

According to the police, both victims were treated at the scene of the accident. Neither had to go to hospital.

The ferry involved is the one that travels between Central Station and Buiksloterweg in Amsterdam-Noord, according to Het Parool. It collided with a pole next to the jetty. The accident brought ferry traffic to a halt for some time, but around noon Amsterdam public transit company GVB announced that the ferry line is up and running again, though with fewer vessels.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
