Police investigation into football hooligans free fight hits dead end

The investigation into a large organized fight between football hooligans supporting Feyenoord and AZ three months ago, has reached a dead end. So far no arrests were made, and the chance of it happening in the future is very small, a police spokesperson said to the Telegraaf.

According to the spokesperson, the case no longer has high priority within the police. "The problem is that no one feels like a victim or wants to press charges."

The fight happened somewhere on a beach early this year. It got a lot of attention when footage of the fight was posted online in January. It seems to be a pre-arranged fight. Both sides are about evenly matched - the same number of fighters and no weapons - and there even seems to be a sort of referee.

The police calls this kind of free fight "unacceptable", according to RTL.
