Uber set to add 600 jobs at Amsterdam office
Uber plans to increase the number of employees at its Amsterdam office from the current 400 to 1,000 over the coming decade. The taxi service is therefore moving to a larger location in the Dutch capital at the end of this year, the Telegraaf reports.
Uber opened its international headquarters in Amsterdam in 2012. In 2015 the company moved into an office on Vijzelstraat. There the number of employees grew from 50 to 400. That office is now also getting cramp. So Uber will be moving to new office complex The Cloud next to the Amstel Station at the end of the year. There the company plans to increase its staff to eventually 1 thousand people in the coming 10 years.
Outside of the Uber headquarters in San Francisco, Amsterdam is the only location where Uber also employs app developers. The Amsterdam office also includes departments for research, marketing and sales.
