Multiple people solve AIVD Christmas puzzle

For the first time in Dutch history the all riddles and puzzles in intelligence service AIVD's annual Christmas puzzle were solved. And not just by one person, but by several, AIVD spokesperson Martinette Bemelmans confirmed to BNR.

A total of 1,250 people submitted their solutions. Several participants solved all puzzles correctly. "Truly a historic moment", Bemelmans said. She adds that the difficulty level of the puzzle did not deteriorate. "I do not think that it was easy. Maybe there were some fewer extra difficult tasks this year."

The annual puzzle is compiled by AIVD employees in their spare time. According to Bemelmans the puzzle's goal is to be fun, but also to introduce the public "to the complexity of our work".

The results of the 2016 Christmas puzzle can be found here.
