Body found in burning car in Tilburg

A body was found in a burning car in Tilburg on Wednesday night. The car was park in a forest on Koebrugseweg, in the outskirts of Tilburg, the police said in a statement.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire and found the burning car. While extinguishing the fire they found the body and called the police.

The police immediately launched an investigation. Forensic experts were called in to do a trace evidence investigation.

"The investigation is still ongoing", the police said in the statement. "In this stage of the investigation not a single scenario can be ruled out, it is therefore still unknown whether a crime was committed."

The body hasn't yet been identified. The police can't even say if the victim was a man or a woman.
